High temperatures and prolonged drought are putting pressure on potato crops across large parts of Europe this summer. In these challenging conditions, protecting every kilogram of yield matters. Keeping the crop healthy and resilient is key to making the most of its remaining yield potential.
Supporting potato crops through drought and heat
Under prolonged dry and hot conditions, potato crops come under increasing stress. More of the plant’s energy is directed towards coping with drought, leaving less available for nutrient uptake, growth and, ultimately, yield formation.
A well-balanced base fertilisation remains essential. However, under these weather conditions, additional crop support can help maintain crop vitality and make more efficient use of the nutrients already available to the plant.
With FertAmino 3-2-7 and NutriFul, we combine targeted crop support with improved nutrient utilisation. Together, they help support the crop’s physiological processes and maintain photosynthetic activity and growth for as long as possible.
FertAmino 3-2-7 combines amino acids with a potassium-rich nutrient formulation. The readily available amino acids support a range of physiological processes within the plant and help maintain crop vitality during periods of drought and heat.
NutriFul is a fulvic-based biostimulant that supports the mobilisation, availability and utilisation of nutrients. This helps the crop make more efficient use of the nutrients that are available, particularly under challenging growing conditions.
Our recommendation for potatoes
Apply both products as a foliar treatment to provide targeted support during periods of drought and heat:
- 5 L/ha FertAmino 3-2-7 + 1 L/ha NutriFul. Repeat the application after approximately 10 days.
The combination of drought and heat makes it even more important to keep the potato crop vigorous and make the most of its available yield potential. Don’t wait and see: support the crop now to maximise the remaining yield potential.
