FertiSoil 4-3-3, FertAmino 3-2-7, FertAmino 7-2-2 & NutriFul
Objective
To assess the effectiveness of organic fertilisers additionally added to mineral fertilisers in respect of the number of tubers and the final yield of potatoes.
Treatments
The trial was set in a trial platform organized by Cultus Crop Research and coordinated by Holland Fyto. Within allocated plot of 30 m², there were 3 small plots defined for further crop assessments.
Application of FertiSoil 4-3-3, FertAmino 3-2-7, FertAmino 7-2-2, and NutriFul:
- Leads to an increase in yield by 27% – additionally 5 mt/ha
- Improved yield was achieved by the increase in weight of tubers higher than 55 mm – extra 61%
- Improves Nitrogen Use Efficiency – extra 5% of yield for 1 kg of N applied
- Brings positive ROI
Majority of soils are treated with standard fertilisation. The transition to organic-treated soil can sometimes take years, without direct noticeable positive effects on yield or plant growth. However, despite this on-going transition, the products of GrowSolutions were able to increase potato yield by 27% with similar tuber counts, proving to be just as effective and potentially more effective than standard fertilisation practice.
FertiSoil 4-3-3 has a gradual release of nitrogen; during the first year, approx. 50-60% of nitrogen is released, followed by the remaining 40-50% in the next year. This means that the products of GrowSolutions can maintain a good soil structure and support soil life for a longer period of time compared to standard practices.
Application of FertiSoil 4-3-3, FertAmino 3-2-7, FertAmino 7-2-2, and NutriFul with reduced amount of fertiliser resulted in higher yields compared to Reference. GrowSolutions approach provides a stable and nutritious basis which will potentially contribute to further improve yield in the upcoming year.
