Objective
The objective of the trial was to determine the effect of GrowSolutions-products on the yield and crop growth of the asparagus compared to the standard fertilisation.
Treatments
The experimental setup was conducted by Compas Agro, and consisted of two treatments: standard fertilisation and GrowSolutions. Each treatment had 2 replicates. The trial was performed on asparagus plants, cultivar Gijnlim. The products were applied through soil or foliar application, at multiple timepoints during cultivation, as shown in the table.
Application of GrowSolutions-products:
- Leads to an higher yield compared to the standard – up to 17% higher total yield.
- Leads to higher yield per quality class.
- Improves plant growth compared to the standard.
The GrowSolutions-products were able to increase asparagus yield with 17% compared to the standard. This was the yield of the asparagus across all quality classes combined.
Additionally, when comparing the individual quality classes, GrowSolutions resulted in higher yields in all quality classes compared to the standard. These results show that GrowSolutions-products were able to positively benefit the growth of asparagus plants.
The beneficial effects of GrowSolutions were also visually noticeable. In the image, the plants treated with GrowSolutions (left) were much longer compared to the plants treated with standard (right).
Application of GrowSolutions-products demonstrated a positive impact on the yield and growth performance of asparagus plants. These results highlight their potential as valuable tools for growers seeking to optimize crop performance and support and enhance asparagus production.
